COVID-19 Safety Policy
As a professional makeup artist, I have one job that’s more important than making you feel your most beautiful, that is, to keep you, my client, safe.
Sanitation and cleanliness have always been the key priority in my work, but with the challenge of the pandemic, you are entitled to an extra measure of assurance, so I want to outline the steps that I, and my team, take to work safe:
1. We wear masks according to the most current CDC guidelines, whether at my studio, or on location. Regardless, we will be happy to wear masks at the clients’ request.
2. We wipe down surfaces before we set up our makeup kits.
3. We wash our hands with soap and water before every client and follow with hand sanitizer.
4. Our brushes have been deep cleaned with soap and water, then disinfected further with 70% alcohol.
5. We use a clean set of brushes for each client we work on and used brushes are packed away after each application.
6. Our kits are a drawer system so we are able to remove only what we need to work on you, rather than spreading out our entire selection of products on a table top. This helps prevent cross-contamination.
7. We always scoop cream products (lip color, cream blush, concealer) from their containers onto a steel palette using a steel spatula that is sanitized with alcohol after use.
8. To apply mascara, we use disposable wands or miniature fan brushes that can be cleaned and sanitized after use.
9. Pencils are sharpened after each use and sprayed with alcohol before storage.
10. Pressed powder products are spray sanitized after each client.
11. We disinfect all of our tools, from tweezers to lash curlers, and wipe down all products before we pack our kits and after each job, to prevent cross-contamination.
12. We are allowing extra time per person in order to factor in extra sanitation measures.
13. At the studio, frequently used or touched objects and surfaces such as phones, doorknobs and desktops are disinfected between appointments.
Even though we love to work, we will not work if exhibiting any signs or symptoms of illness. If we are unable to keep an appointment due to illness, I will draw from my other team members to find you a substitute, or refer you to colleagues in the professional beauty community.
In the spirit of cooperation, we ask the following of you:
1. If you have an upcoming appointment but aren’t feeling well, please e-mail or call to reschedule.
2. If you are coming in for a trial run for your wedding and would like to bring someone, we may ask that they wear a mask.
3. If we are working at your home, venue or hotel, we may request a separate room to work in and only one client will be in that room with the artist at a time. Please, no children, spouses or vendors - if having someone else in the room temporarily can’t be avoided, they may be asked to wear a mask.
4. Finally, we do reserve the right to not work on or with a client who appears to have symptoms of illness.
We will continue to monitor the guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control and the State of Pennsylvania in order to adjust where necessary to work safely.
